The staff were polite and friendly; but I was told the device would be ready in 24-48 hours. I got a text message 98 hours later.

Excellent service from these guys. Phone screen broke, took it to them, they advised that it would take a couple of days to get the special part for this phone and that it would cost quite a bit of money. A little on the pricey side, but it wasn't a huge \might-as-well-get-a-new-phone-price\ problem, my own big dumb fault it broke in the first place. Paid a 20 deposit, waited a couple of days, they emailed me to book an appointment slot, booked that, took the phone to them, and they were done in two hours.

I’ve had a screen replacement due to water damage. Except the screen there was no damage on the phone caused by water. It is very common with inexperienced operators to not replace the flex cable assembly for the new display with the original one from the old display. This causes the FaceID to stop working, which unfortunately happened to my phone. They said that sometimes it happens that the module get’s damaged. This is not the case as the module was still working after the liquid damage. The dot projector was visible on camera (blinking IR). I’m very disappointed with the repair, as I’ve could have done it myself with a cheap screen like the one that seems to now be on my phone (the screen is visible taller than the original and doesn’t sit flush). Additionally, staff seemed to be inclined to spread misinformation about the procedure, saying that the colours of the screen can be transferred to the new aftermarket screen using “a tool they have”. It is not possible to “transfer” colours from one screen to the other. It might be possible to calibrate the screen but as we know this is not possible on Apple devices. Not at all impressed with the attitude of the staff. There might be less technically inclined people going there for a repair and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just being tricked with these kind of “stories”. Overall I would not recommend iSmash.
