We went for breakfast... Waitress was excellent very attentive to the customers and bar staff were pleasant and festive... This place is a little full on with security such as i asked for a dinner plate to put the toast on for the 5 of us that were having breakfast to share. I was told wasn't allowed one, all the plates are kept out of sight and only issued for a valid ticket. I was however given tiny plates to put on the table. The food was plentiful and very well cooked, i enjoyed the meal and would have given 5 stars apart from the pictures shown this is the door leading into the kitchen... At 10am i would be hard pushed to believe the food stains were from that mornings service. People eat with their eyes first and this is really off putting next to the food serving counter..... For the sake of 10mins at the end of one night, I would have touched up the paint and as it's a high traffic area, I'd make sure it was cleaned daily. As those doors lead to the kitchen my thoughts are of what condition the kitchen is behind the door. I work in the fire industry and have been privy to the state of some kitchens, hence I only eat from branded establishments. This one just missed the mark for me on the day but the food was well presented and tasty. So i give them 4 stars in the hope they improve from this constructive criticism
I had a great breakfast this morning. Couldn't thank the staff more for making me feel safe and making it safe for my baby during these hard times. The food was excellent and all staff looked clean and presentable. The senior staff were also very attentive to us and helped me when needed whilst keeping social distancing. I will definitely be going there again.
I’ve just had a fantastic carvery at this pub. The beef and turkey were cooked to perfection; mind you timed it perfect as they had just brought a fresh joint of beef and a whole turkey to the serving point. Lovely pint of Stella and served by smiley happy staff which were Nick and Di. My nephew was also happy because of the free WiFi to keep him amused on his phone after lunch.
Brilliant meal. It was very busy in the pub as it is every Sunday but its very well run in terms of covid stuff. Its actually really nice to be in a pace that is busy but also safe. Makes it feel like the good old days ! ( Last year lol) Carvery is always nice but the best thing is the staff. They are all happy and helpful, they remember your names and orders and do everything they can to make your day special. Thank you Round Oak staff for bringing some normal back to the world
I really enjoyed my breakfast this morning! The staff are very polite and made it very safe considering the circumstances. The rules were easy to obey as they were given to us on entering. Also staff knew what they were doing and were happy and content doing their jobs. Will defiantly be going up there again!
I have been there twice in the last 2 weeks and both times it did not disappoint me. I was very happy with the service I received from the staff. The carvery is an absolute must when visiting here. Ps I have always booked a table for 1 and I enjoyed it. Would definitely come back again as this is my favourite place as I only recently moved here.
Visit here frequently with a large family in tow. During covid this pub has been great at not making us feel like we shouldn’t be out! Carvery prepared for you and is very generous, unsure of names of chefs but last couple of times we’ve been in we’ve had no complaints. Being from a catering background myself I know chefs hate the limelight but they’re all doing great Front of house team have been great with explaining the whole new process too. But I need to make a big special mention to one particular lady... Diane. She has looked after us the last couple of times we have visited and she is absolutely brilliant. She makes us feel so welcome, is patient with the children and I do believe is a main reason we keep coming back. She’s an absolute asset to the team, thank you Diane ️
