Beautiful old fort with old city inside. Interesting shops, with touristy goods and also local craft food and others. The main street with fountains and water running at its centre is a lot of fun for kids. The view is amazing.

Driving from Cannes to Chamonix I stopped for the night in Briançon. Impressive fortress in historical centre. Pleasant to stroll around. Nice restaurants in the vicinity. Worthwhile!
Beautiful place, only sad you can't go into the fortesse itself. The panoramic views are amazing!
Nice place to visit and spend a couple of hours. The church is beautiful and there is a great picture Annonciation to the Saint Family. In the pretty dark church it is as if lighted from inside. The view from the fortress' walls is magnificent also!
Stunning walled city and fortress. Lots of narrow streets to explore, plenty of shops and eating places. Best part is wandering the walls and exploring the views looking into the gorge. Breathtaking, and not only due to the steep path to climb back up from the bridge. Fortress is 6 to enter but even without this there is plenty to explore and enjoy.
Great views and magical feeling to walk around - almost as if transported back in time. Lots of side streets to lose yourself and to get away from the hassle.
