Brewpub Glouglou is a nano brewery (really not a brewpub as such), located in a ground floor extension of a tall pink 12-story apartment building. Parking along the streets is for residents, but there is limited pay parking at the nearby grocery store. In either case, don’t plan to spend a long time here because the tiny brewery is only large enough for quick bottle sales. The beer can not be tasted here. The exterior has a brick sidewalk and large roof that extends over the entrance. Outside are stacks of bottles and boxes. Just inside on the right is a old pinball machine and a couple of couches which are used for storage instead of seating. The whole place is extremely cluttered with antiques and supplies, like an eclectic hoarder’s paradise. On the left are shelves stocked with large format bottles of the house beer for sale. They have only a few varieties, and I tried their strong Blanche Ale which was pretty good. The owner is welcoming and happy to greet customers, and gave me a quick look at the facility. Behind the short service counter is the crowded brewing area. Their grain mill has an amusing set up - it is connected to a bicycle that can be peddled to run the mill. The stainless steel pot brewing vessels are located around the corner to the left, with a hot liquor tank on a ledge overhead. It is a tiny operation with very limited distribution, but the quality beer is good.

Best beer I could find in the area, very small operation with everything done by hand, but clearly it pays off. The owner/brewer is very kind and offered to show me around the place, certainly a place I would return to!
