Friendly service and amazing food. Every dish was colorful and delicious. Quiet and chique atmosphere, though casual wear will do. I do recommend this restaurant

Not coming back. Never. Reviews said that Butter Chicken was amazing, so I decided to give it a shot. But I ended up regretting...... Been to several Indian restaurants and butter chicken is always my go-to, but this one from this restaurant tasted nothing like butter chicken. Nothing. It’s more like you just throw together your tandoori chicken, a whole tomato, half an egg, a pinch of curry powder and A TIN OF CONDENSED MILK. It was very sweet I didn’t taste anything else, not even salt?!! So bad that I threw all the gravy away, and rinse and then boil the chicken hoping to get rid of the sweet taste. I thought perhaps I was just unlucky that I got a bad batch, but I talked to my Indian friend who’d been there and ordered butter chicken, and he also said the same thing.
I would honestly give this place a 10/5 stars if I could. It has the best tasting Indian food I have had in The Netherlands by fat. It's not even a competition. They have the most tender chicken you can imagine. The spices are balanced perfectly. The thickness of the curries is just how it should be. The rice is fluffy and flavoursome. Personally I always order either the Chicken Tikka Masala or the Butter Chicken (both pictured in the review). My wive has tried their kebabs as well on several occasions. It's also prepared really well, and brought on a sizzling hot dish for a little extra theatricality and also to keep it warm longer as there is no saus to keep the meat warm. Their naan is out of this world. I believe they prepare it fresh to order in a tandoor. We always order a garlic naan with our dish. I have to say that I'm a pretty good eater, but their portions will always have me full right before their finished. So this place has a generous portion of high quality and good tasting food that is prepared fresh, for a truly affordable price. This has been our (me and my wives) go to restaurant for 5 years now. In all fairness, the last time we went, I was not 1000% satisfied with the rice, as it was a little clumpy. But that can be due to the fact that we walked in 30 min before closing. But other than that one time, we were satisfied 100%. Definitlly recommend.q
The food is good. The samosas as starters were delicious and they kept their word about the vindaloo being extra hot (just as I like it)! On the other side, the decor is a bit dated and the service can be slow (maybe it's better if you are seated centrally). Worth a visit if you're not in a rush.
I have been using the Taj Mahal for years, friendly staff and a great menu.
