From surprise proposals, maternities, senior portraits to coven shoots - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the state arboretum to use as a background! So many backdrops and so much ground to walk around. Each picture is near the same. Dog Friendly environment, this is just a beautiful location to walk around and gather your peace.

Virginia Arboretum is a truly cool place to go. Benches when you get tired. Bird watching areas. Horse back riding areas. Even puppies can go here on a leash and have fun.

This is a beautiful and well-maintained arboretum! There is a nice loop trail that goes all through the arboretum that you can either walk or drive along. There are also lots of side trails with lots of information and history! They have a cool marshy area, too, with lots of wetland plants. I highly recommend the bee wall! It features a bee habitat built by an artist, with a really cool cabinet-like structure with doors that open up for you to view the bees and wasps building their nests and raising their young! There are also a lot of private residences on site, as well as experimental centers and a learning center. These were unfortunately closed when we came, due to COVID19. We had a wonderful time touring the State Arboretum of Virginia, and we can't wait to come again!

It's so beautiful after all the snow that fell last week. Parking was a little bit difficult but we found some and had a really enjoyable walk. It's not as obviously beautiful as it is in the fall but the beauty is still there.

I went here at sunrise to take photos and it was beautiful. I definitely would want to come back to look around again. Even the drive here was relaxing and scenic.
