Wonderful winters walk around the Gorge loop taking in Auchinleck Castle ruins. Ample parking in site. Lovely cafe and excellent gift shop. Kids loved the playpark and seeing the highland cows.

Unfortunately not learning from there last blunder, to be approached by the owner upon parking to be told we need to buy something from the shop is an outrageous way to treat customers. Having been in the last month and spend around 40 on takeaway drinks & Cakes. Living locally actively promoting business like this to friends & family once again customer relations have let a potentially great little business down. Gavin & Corrine

We have just returned home from the most beautiful wedding. When you drive towards Boswell's coach house, you go along the most beautiful lane surrounded by trees and with it being Autumn, everything is just so colourful. When we arrived, we saw the beautiful main building and were then driven to the left to a side door where the ceremony was held. The quaint room was intimate and beautiful and perfect for any couple who want their wedding day to be extra special. After the ceremony, the reception was held in a large tent just steps away surrounded by beautiful trees with fairy lights strung around each trunk - beautiful by day but even more striking by nightfall. Truly a magical setting for such a magical occasion. You really feel welcome in this venue and I think it should be a prime location for anyone wanting to have a perfect intimate wedding.

Yesterday we visited the coach ouse for a light lunch which was nice. We then went to the farm shop to purchase a steak pie ( only 1 size available n was frozen ) cost pennies under 9.00 portion just enough to feed 2 we had 9 pieces of diced steak not large bits plenty gravy n was very bland we were very very disappointed as they came recommended from some farming friends Sorry but the standard and value for money leaves a lot to b deiserd we would have been better off getting a pie from the supermarket

I've been here many times and have always found it to be enjoyable. The main building is a converted coachhouse, which has been put together with care and attention. It is finished to a great standard and is definitely on par with the nearby Dumfries House, despite the obvious advantages that place has over pretty much everywhere locally. The food is always lovely, and there are plenty of locally produced things to buy like meat, veg, and fresh milk in glass bottles. There is an adventure climbing frame for kids, however at this time (deep into covid-19 territory) it is closed, but then so is everything else. The Coach House has started doing weddings as well. The venue looks good, although I can't comment fully as I've not been to a wedding there yet. The walks into the country are fantastic. There are many small paths and ways off the beaten track, but the main trail is \The Gorge Walk\. And what a gorge it is. It is massive, certainly something you wouldn't want to fall down. And it goes on a fair distance too, so don't be surprised if you are taking kids and they start to moan. If you're looking for somewhere to spend a couple of hours in the open air, where you can get a coffee and something nice to eat, you could do far worse than swinging by. My only complaint is the very narrow entrance road which can get congested. That said, it was constructed a long time ago and may be prevented from widening by planning rules. It is, however, a minor inconvenience.
