Arrived early, lucky we did, no record of our reservation, they did fit us in, well we ordered no problem, starter x2 and 3 mains, all came together as requested, starter placed down so quick the mozzarella sticks slid off one of the plates!!!. Mains arrived soon after. Very average not anything to write home about. Then tried For about half hour to catch the eye of staff to order a pudding. Felt like we were on a desert island with a SOS out and no aircraft around to see us despite making it obvious we were looking to order ( signs up “ do not go to bar table service only”) eventually got staff attention to pay and mentioned our wait time and an apology was made but With a comment that lots of people have ordered at the bar tonight, come on you could do better, customer service is paramount. Will think twice before a return trip. I like to spend my money locally but come on try harder.

Friendly helpful staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. Very handy if you are looking for an alternative to the Marriott restaurant. Only 5mins walk away.
Booked for a large party 2 weeks in advance. We waited 30 minutes before our drinks order was taken (we actually had to approach staff twice & watched many other parties who arrived after us being served first). When we were finally attended to the manager told us “look lasses, yous aren’t the only booking here today. YES, we took your booking but it’s busy so you’ll have to wait, okay”. The food actually arrived an hour later (90 minutes after we arrived). We sat with empty drinks for 30 minutes and had to approach waiting staff repeatedly for a second round of drinks. In addition, the food was average and they didn’t stock/ran out of some drinks. All in all it was a really poor experience and whilst I appreciate the pub might have been busy, the customer service was extremely poor. Wouldn’t recommend.
Smaller than anticipated, but no problems identified during lunch service. A range of ales and lagers available from the bar, food included special deals, coffee recommended. Potato skins were a large portion for one, but good for sharing, mains are generous portions but fulfill most expectations. Check out any specials on offer. Worth a visit, but perhaps not on a race day!
Called in for lunch, although quiet, meal was enjoyable, very good value and very pleasant staff.
