My husband and I come here every time we’re in Bordeaux and recommend it to all our friends. This place is just good. I love beef tartare and it comes out like a brick here so I can eat it to my heart’s content!! You pick your beef at the counter which is definitely a fun experience. It’s straight to the point BOEUF! It’s communal tables and casual dining experience. We love this place so much we tried to have our wedding welcome dinner here, but it just didn’t work out.

It was funny because this was Recommended by my friend from Bordeaux but I came here alone tonight hoping for a big steak. I ordered aberico ham platter paired with saint emilion red for my starter but I’m already FULL! The butcher came for the type of cut that I want but I turned down since my starter is kinda BIG plate for one person. Staff are friendly and I love the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant which will blend to the type of food they have...i missed the matured steak...better luck next time. I will surely comeback once Im in Bordeaux.

Do you like meat? Do you like wine? Do you like great staff, friendly ambience, seating inside or outside? Then this is your place. A great fridge of meat and butchers block and the ability to select your cut. The wine list is incredible - from reasonably priced to ridiculously priced - you'll find something that works. Staff are extremely friendly and have great knowledge, especially of the wine. Highly highly recommended.

Best steak I've had, ever. Meat was cooked perfectly and aged so well. Chips were cooked in duck fat and were beautiful, served with complementary fresh rustic bread. Staff spoke English well which was really helpful. The steaks are expensive, and some steaks, such as tbone have a minimum order I.e. 700g. Expect for most steaks to be paying minimum of 30 euros. For the quality received I don't think the price was huge, all the steaks come out sliced I believe so me and my guest ordered an 800g steak between us (pictured)

We first went to this for a drink after having had dinner in another place. There was a raucous atmosphere, AC/DC and Led Zepp blaring out, rugby on the big screen, people eating drinking and having a good time. In one section was a butcher's display cabinet full of really good looking beef where people would come and choose the cut of beef they wanted and it would then be taken to the kitchen to be bbq grilled and served with delicious fries cooked in duck fat. We returned the next night to have some steak and fries and it was delicious. A unique experience which I hope to repeat in the future!

I think this might be a bit of a tourist trap. I've had far better steaks for the same price. We were recommended a single 400g steak to share between 2 people. The cut of steak was so varied that it would have been impossible for the chef to cook it evenly the whole way through - subsequently it was tough, burnt and chewy in some parts of the steak, and maybe 50% of the steak was cooked beautifully. The duck fat chips were good. The salad was a bowl of lettuce with too much oily vinaigrette. The waiter and 'butcher' were both friendly. The interior decor is dark and dated. As with anywhere in Europe, you cannot sit and eat at the outside tables without having to experience second-hand cigarette smoke.

We fancied a steak on our first night in Bordeaux and came across this place. We were sat outside which was fine and we were shown inside to choose our steak. This was a first for us as normally we just choose from a menu. We were recommended which steak to eat by their staff. Told them to give us enough for 4 people. Expecting maybe 20 to 25 per person. When we got the bill at the end we had been charged 166 for the steak we had shared!!!!! What an absolute rip off. They must pray on tourists!!!!! Won't be going back there that's for sure. Tourists you have been warned.

Nice tapas bar, prices are ok but very average as a restaurant. Nice butcher area inside. Waiters speak loud and tables outdoor are mostly for dinner. Toilets are really terrible; place to avoid for a romantic date
