A good selection of quality food and I like the intimacy of the store. I know where everything is found now...but why do I have to read out my Booths clubcard number? its annoying to say the least. Why does it not just scan? and then the assistants on the tills don't hear first time because I'm wearing a mask and there's a spit screen in the way...Surely this could be done in a more efficient manner?

Forget Waitrose. This northern grocer has been delivering the same satisfaction of paying more for your daily shop than a trip to Aldi. They have a lovely selection of artisanal products and might even have a small tin of caviar when a craving something to top on blinis, this far from civilisation.
Good covid controls in place. Nice fish counter and good condition stock. Service on deli a bit slow. Couple of nice deals on wines.
Good selection of luxury food items, but the staff training leaves a lot to be desired. I've been ignored, had staff walk away from me when I approach the customer service desk or carry on their conversations with each other while I wait for them to serve me. I have also been followed around the store by a person I assume is the duty manager and then been watched at the self-service checkouts - the only reason I can see is that I was dressed in slightly scruffy clothes. I am not used to being treated like this as I am a lecturer in HE. I try to avoid this Booths wherever possible, which is a shame because I was a loyal customer before moving to Chorley.
Very good supermarket for food and wine. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good range of local produce.
