If you want fresh fruit, vegetables and some great value deli meats, cheeses, olives and pickles then this is the place every Saturday. You can actually pick up a few things late Friday when several of the stalls are setting up. If you want to try something genuinely local then visit the stalls towards the post office side as this is where local farmers sell things they have prepared and cooked, plus some of the best seasonal greens and mushrooms to be found anywhere. And Sunday this is the place for the second hand market where you just might pick up a bargain.

typical turkish market where farmers sell their fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese and olives and even cook some dolma and gözleme! in turkey you are always allowed to try the stuff before buying it. the spice and tea sellers are used to tourists and they will always try to talk to you and get you to buy their stuff. these guys are the only one you can bargain with, with the other farmers you normally don‘t, the prices are fixed and really cheap.
