A lovely addition to Newport. Been for breakfast a couple of times and both have been enjoyable with good service. Only thing not making it 5* is that I feel the portion sizes are quite small (but maybe I’ve been choosing the wrong thing!), but the prices are good

I’ve been here several times now. Excellent coffee, nice cakes, and I can vouch for a really good bowl of porridge. Wonderful to have somewhere open in Newport where you can go after 5pm for a coffee 7 days a week. Good WiFi, one warning- it gets warm upstairs!
I know it's tricky at the minute but waiting 15 minutes to be seated, ordering food which had not arrived after forty minutes and waiting 20 minutes for somebody to take a drinks order is pretty poor. It's worse when you are sat in full view of all three staff. We would have stayed, certainly best beer in Newport, but the staff were short-handed and the manager unaware (stood three yards away making coffee the whole time we were trying to get service) or uncaring. If you are insisting on table service actually serve tables and not people who walk up to the pay point. Disappointing, but easily fixable - more staff and pay attention to customers.
Lovely inside, friendly staff and tasty food.
I’ve been here twice; first time I only had the deluxe hot chocolate, it was quite nice but expensive for what you get, and was barely hot. Much prefer Costa’s. Second visit was in the late evening and I enjoyed trying out the gin selection. This place has a beautiful interior and a great atmosphere in the evening. Customer service could be better but this will hopefully improve with time. Overall a nice place, I believe Bod will be an asset to the town :)
