Not a bad burger at all. Good pint of bitter. Pleasant and helpful staff. Given the COVID operating rules - a good job.

The girls that was on duty today had fantastic friendly people skills , On a walk today my family had got a bit lost from a walk in Disley and to make matters worse the phone battery had died . They went inside the pub to see if there was a local taxi number that they could have and the the lady offered to ring it for them and welcomed them inside out of the rain. Such amazing hospitality to someone needing a bit of help, Think I will be making a point of revisiting to try the amazing looking food . Nice to see this still exists Thankyou

My sister & I visited the Boars Head for lunch, having booked a table. We were greeted warmly at the door & shown to a little table for two. My Black Sheep beer was well drawn & very enjoyable. I ordered bacon chops which were delicious, my sister ordered chicken; both meals were served by a young member of staff who quite obviously knew how easy it is to smile & be pleasant to customers. I ordered a sweet, a flap-jack apple crumble with custard, possibly one of the nicest desserts I have tasted in a pub.We were attended to well from start to finish in a pleasant atmosphere. I live in North Wales now but lived in Poynton for many years & married at St. Georges in 1977. This visit to the Boars Head brought back good memories of enjoying a pint during a break in a ride along the Middlewood Way. Thank you everyone! I sure hope I can visit again soon, this time with my husband who enjoys a good pub lunch & a well-pulled pint!!

Had plenty of lunches here.. good standard pub! Reasonably priced for what you get not had a bad meal from here in all the time ive gone. Staff friendly and willing to stand and chat if that's what your into... dog friendly on one side of the pub! Toilets could do with been freshened up and modernising... out door seating areas around the pub with a gated area... plenty of parking which is free too! Stairs up the back are quite steep so be aware if your not into heights! Various closing times as this is a family run pub so if you rock up when you want your dicing with whether it's open or not. All in all not a bad experience each time very moderately pleasant!
