My partner and I went with the 5 course tasting meal and paired cocktails. Personally I had a great experience and the food was interesting and tasty but for a couple of the courses the wine pairing arrived well after the plate had. It's a small inconvenience but for the amount of money you're spending there is a level of service you expect. I'd avoid the steak as the tasting portion ended up being well done instead of medium rare. Desserts could be more exciting/exotic. There was close paid parking, the restaurant itself was gorgeous, and everyone was very friendly. Overall a good experience, but a couple of things that could be easily improved.

It is not often that I give a restaurant five stars because, in my eyes, it's near impossible to achieve perfection with food. I know it can be done, but trust me, it's hard to get ambiance, services, drinks, all course, and the close right. But I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I walked into Blood & Sand that they have achieved just that. I can even say that I feel the restaurant could efficiently deliver that on a consecutive basis. The staff takes the time to introduce you to the menu and explain the options. The bartender even takes the time to introduce himself and walk you through drinks and choices that he has designed. My wife and I decided to each get the course meals, and she paired hers with the wine parings. The bartender made me five different whiskey drinks to pair with my meal options. The meals on the menu appear to be too large for one person, but take it from me, the chefs have designed the size of the meal to not overfill you even with drinks. Every single bite I took melted in mouth, and the flavors exploded my tastebuds. Hats off to Blood & Sand we don't love in STL, but the three hour trip is 100% worth it!

So decided to take my wife here for a short Valentine’s Day weekend from KC. First how are you blocks away from where they make Budweiser and not offer it, second when I called first they said “we have a full bar” they didn’t have captain Morgan or crown royal. The waiter we had had a soft millennial male voice and then you add a mask and you can’t here them say anything. Then I guess the manager or door guy came over and asked if we enjoyed and I responded it was “ok” and he got an attitude as though there environment and food was the best thing anyone had ever had. DEAD WRONG. Save your money and go to McDonald’s. 500 wasted !!!!!! Oh my wife enjoyed it but we were both there to enjoy. Learn how to cater to a couple as a whole not one vs. the other !!!

What an exceptional dining experience!! We sat at the bar and where well taken care of. My wife and I shared the 10 course tasting menu and we where not disappointed. We enjoyed our evening of culinary delights and perfectly made cocktails to the fullest. Thanks for the memories. On a side note, I saw some reviews where people complained about price. If your pinching pennies don’t come here and eat and then leave a bad review about the price. Consider that your paying for a dining experience that sets itself apart from the others. Cheers and Bon Appetit!
