Very good Steak. Only 5 walking minutes distance from the U-Bahn station. My experience was fast and kind service.

Located in great location on a public square, Block house has indoor and outdoor seating. The service was excellent and ambiance is a little dark with an odd color scheme. The salad was excellent and was crisp, fresh and very tasty. The steak was ok but was cooked just as ordered and presented nicely.( I'm from Alberta Canada and eat some of the best beef in the world). The garlic toast was ok but not enough garlic for my tastes but cooked perfectly. The potato was outstanding and was served with Block House's own homemade sour cream. I ordered a merlot for wine and it was perfect with my meal. I ate here in early afternoon and did not see all the 60 people mentioned in previous reviews. In fact most of the customers were 35 and younger in my opinion. Overall a very good meal but needs a few tweaks to be great!
Went here for lunch with my mum and a friend. We were a little early, but the main door was open. I asked a waitress what time they would open, she stared straight at me, but then simply ignored me. I asked again, no answer. There were about 8 waiters standing near the entrance; it was quite bizarre. We were finally let in five minutes later, no apologies made. Rude service continued. We waited for a long time for a waitress to take our order (the restaurant was not full) and finally decided to leave as were still being ignored. I noticed the other guests were treated with friendlier service and not ignored. Such a shame as we used to love Block House.
