A great place to observe hang gliders and others float down to earth from high above the Chuckanut Mountain Overlook.
This is where the parachuters, sky divers and hang gliders land. It's very cool to watch!
I was on vacation and driving back to Anacortes. Something caught my eye above the mountain and I was thrilled to see it was a large group of hang gliders! I quickly pulled in and realized that I was at the landing zone. I stayed for a long time watching them come in. It was so beautiful there and such a thrill to watch!
Blanchard paragliding LZ is large and plenty of field to land. You can hike up from the LZ to the launch about 1hrs.
