Black Horse

NB: we were there on the last day of \Eat out to help out\ scheme and according to Google maps there were far more people than usual. We didn't book a table but were seated outdoor without any issues. Had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to get our order, some tables who arrived after us were served before us. If it would 10 more minutes waiting I'd leave. Food was ok, nothing outstanding but cannot complain. Portions are big enough for an adult but don't expect anything very big to share. Desserts are great judging by family's comments, I didn't try. Staff is polite and friendly but was seemingly overloaded on this day - I saw a few more tables that had to attract an attention to make an order. Beer - local ale is good, more on the IPA-ish bitter side. Doombar, Pedigree, London Pride and Guinness were there if you like something battle-proof. There's selection of ciders, both draught and bottled. To sum up - good place, waiting times could be long, no major drawbacks. Will probably pay another visit but not anytime soon.

Such an amazing pub! Very decent outside decor and interior design, and like the cute garden very much. They hold live music performance frequently. Good craft beers and pub food.

Great staff, lunch in covered gazebo with heaters. Definitely recommend.

The Black Horse is my local and, in my opinion, the best pub in (High) Barnet. The atmosphere is always lovely, they do their own craft beer, the garden is very pleasant and I've never had bad service or food. As it's a minor walk from the high street and places like the laundrette, it's a perfect place to kill half an hour or make a day of it... Especially when it's sunny.
