Enjoyed a great Sunday Carvery take away. Delivered on time, plenty of it. Very well cooked, and so tasty. Many thanks to Michael, Gary and staff. Highly recommend. If you fancy a treat go for it.

Had a very nice social distanced lunch with a fantastic array of vegetables with my carvery, with specially prepared veg without sauce to allow for my Gluten free needs. My friend had a beautifully created crab started and a very nice 'small' scampi and chips with delicious salad and tartar sauce. We ate inside, but the pub owners have been very creative in adapting to the Covid situation. Outside there is a scaffolding roof high up to protect from the elements, tables with heater lamps and the garden is well surrounded by hedges and fences, so not much wind. A great place if you feel more comfortable outside than indoors. Maybe I would bring a blanket!! Indoors are clear screens with the Black Horse logo to give privacy and separation between tables. Well done the Black Horse!

Lovely looking but food terrible..so small in front but a tardis in the back. My hubby used to go there for the fishpie ab 25 years ago when working in the area.. The service was not great. This pub Used to specialise in Seafood, hence us going there for a bowl of mussels. It smelled a bit weird when put in front of us - but we thought it might be the sauce/onions? ... got served with dry cut up baguette. Chips was good. Mussels horrible, small, tough some not opened...but we were hungry. No one asked us how the meal is or was. Rushed when taking our plates....My hubby had diaree and was feeling nauseous during the night and the next day.. and i felt nauesous and queezy, thank goodness i didnt eat it all and didnt touch the sauce. Its been a long time since my hubby was there...thinking he will show me a good pub with nice food - we wont return!

Came for a family meal on bank holiday Monday and had a lovely evening. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing with huge portions. The sea bass on creamed leeks was delicious and there were rave reviews for the stuffed red pepper.

The food in here is SO good! We were staying about 5 minutes up the road, and so pleased we found the Black Horse. The brie with chilli jam was divine, and the atmosphere was so good all night. Staff were lovely too, and everyone was enjoying themselves. Great spot.
