If I could give a 0 I would. I had Black Dog build my company a web page. I was told it was being built for our company and it never was right. What was worse is it was built using open source software. We were hacked and it cost me a lot of time and money. We ended up having to shut the page down. We are back to doing everything manually. That's the thanks I get for trying to do business locally!
Do NOT use Black Dog Productions. They were contracted to record and produce DVDs of the Y-Academy of Dance recitals shows this Spring (2017). The DVDs we finally recived in July are absolute junk. Following are some if the issues I have with them. 1. They lost the recordings of the first half of the evening show and just substituted the first half of the matinee show in instead. The matinee and evening shows were not the same (different dance classes in each show). 2. The camera work is horrendous. It has constant zooming in and out along with poor tracking/framing; all resulting in some of the dancers being cut out of the view or their feet being cut off (a big part of what you want to see of the dancer). 3. The choice of camera placement was poor. The heads of people regularly obstruct the view. 4. The audio quality was poor. Professional recording should include a direct audio feed from the mixing console. 5. It is also very apparent that the video crew did not show up to the dress rehearsal to understand the lighting/blocking on stage. In total I would say that what they produce is no better than what a 10 year old holding an ipad would give you. As a teacher I would only give them a D- on this work. (The work performed and produced by students at the college is far and above superior to what Black Dog Productions is providing.) If I could give negative stars I would. (A minimum of 1 star was required to leave a review.)
They took 250 from a not for profit organization. I paid for a stage rental 2 months prior to event. The morning of event, unknowingly was charged and paid for the stage a second time. Brian would never return phone calls or emails for refund of overpayment. 2 months later, he finally sent 250 check that bounced. I was then charged a fee for the bad check as well. Brian refuses to respond to emails/calls to issue a new refund check. Since this time, I’ve sought legal action and received my refund.
