Samuel was fantastic!! I grew up in California, so I’m already very familiar with Black Bear Diner and told my husband about it. This was his first time and we both loved the food. It brought back all the nostalgia and was better than I had even remembered!! We will be coming back often!!

Ask for Sam!!! He is the best waiter that I've encountered in awhile. I believe the customer service from each staff member that we passed by, while in the restaurant, was impeccable. They were so sweet to my daughter, too. Great food and reasonable prices. We will most definitely be back. Our first impression with this establishment was top notch!!
Breakfast all day for the win! Food was really good. Excellent eggs, pancakes and bacon. The child portion was plenty for an adult. The \mini\ homemade pies are actually huge! Our server was very friendly and cordial. Plenty of drink refills. Very quaint decor. A jukebox. Super cute and thoughtful little touches like bear paws on the napkins, black bear sugar packets and ketchup bottles, and totally cute take home boxes for the pies and cobbler! Someone put alot of thought into this place and I will definitely return with family and buy pies as gifts because... the boxes are irresistible! They play an eclectic mix of music too. Old school Motown, 80's, Country, etc. My only suggestion would be to not use lettuce as a garnish under hot food, and not use oranges as a garnish for spaghetti or meat type meals. And also, fill the fun merchandise shelves more fully with cute gifts and draw more attention to them, and give the check out area a bit of TLC. I hope future visits will be as enjoyable as the first.
Wow!! Walked in and was greeted with a cozy feeling. I was handed a menu that looked like an old newspaper. I ordered the California Omelette that came with Country fried potatoes and toast. Came to me hot amd absolutely delicious!! Iced tea was fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Found my new favorite breakfast spot.
my 1st time going and i was very impressed on how the hostess Cindy greeted me. Cindy made sure i was comfortable and that the table and seats where clean. my waiter was also very friendly gave me some suggestions and made sure everything was to my liking. Way better service than any other place i went to and i eat out a lot due to traveling . not to mention you get a lot of food for the. price!!
