I do not recommend // I went to Bistrot des Halles with my friends who do not speak French. When I asked for the menu, the waiter told me they do not have any (COVID-19). Alright, I understand. I ordered a drink. My friend wanted to know the prices. The waiter left without saying anything which was quite weird to us. He came back after a couple of minutes and asked for my friends order. When the waiter came with our drinks, he smashed a snack on the table.(Is it hard to be nice?) While drinking our very overpriced beers, another waiter showed THE. MENU. to customers behind us. (Ah,. There IS a menu?). As we had this non-existent service, we decided to leave after one drink. We asked for the bill and the same waiter came to our table with the card terminal. However when I asked to pay by card he told me that it is only for 10 bills. What happened to the COVID-19 excuse regarding the menu in this case? Why would you bring the card terminal with you while you knew our order was less than 10? After we paid the waiter left our table without saying goodbye. No service. Cold hearted. Overpriced. NOT worth spending your time here.

Bistrot des Halles was a famous and very good place few years ago. Unfortunately it is getting worth and worth. Food is expensive without quality. Only the staff is still nice and efficient. I do not recommend it any more.

Ordered a steak medium rare, was given a hunk of meat that was burnt on the outside and blue rare throughout. The steak was either cooked directly from the fridge or from frozen. Fries and pepper dressing were good.

In an area that is becoming progressively more posh and gentrified there remains a Parisian bistrot that is still true to its roots. This is a place where tourists mix with locals. Yes the decor hasn't been updated since the 70's but if it is food you're after you won't be disappointed. The service is professional and attentive, the food traditional and delicious.
