I had a custom Victoria Sponge with pink buttercream and sprinkles for my daughter’s first birthday. It looked and tasted AMAZING. Andrea was very easy and professional to order from. We will definitely order from her again.

Really delicious cakes using top quality ingredients. We ordered a Victoria sponge birthday cake and the taste was incredible... also very beautifully decorated, and definitely added to the success of the birthday celebrations! Not your usual fluffy, sugar-laden, bland affair... thoughtfully developed and unique recipes produced with care. Also fantastic, efficient and reliable customer service. There are cheaper cakes on the market, but here you’re getting a really special cake for your money. Thoroughly recommended and we’ll be ordering from Birthday Cakes Balham again!!

This was a short notice order of a bespoke cake for an 83rd birthday for my Dad. Despite the short time available, the whole process was handled over the phone and by email, very professionally and with zero fuss. An emailed image of a coat of arms was scanned onto edible icing and formed the centrepiece of the cake. With a nautical theme, piped icing was then used to make anchors, anchor ropes and porpoise on the cake, together with block writing. The overall effect was very impressive. The finished article was delivered free of charge (I am within 2 miles of the shop) at the exact time that had been agreed. As for the cake itself, it was divine. We asked for a chocolate flavoured cake that was enhanced with whisky and made with fresh cream. We paid extra for a litre of whisky to be added and the overall effect was amazing. This did not taste like a sponge - it was substantial, but I assume that because of the whisky and cream, at the same time extraordinarily moist and flavoursome. The icing was also far to easy to eat and still be left wanting more. The target audience for this cake were older men (not renowned for a sweet tooth and love of deserts) and we served sizeable portions, but I was still amazed how many returned for more. Also midday the following morning as I enjoyed a coffee, I found myself ruing the moment that I allowed my sister to keep the last of the cake. In conclusion, the service was great, the cake was wonderful and I cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks \Birthday Cakes Balham.
