My last experience was in. 2008, I made an appointment with the school after getting 2 estimates from regular dentists. I had an injury and chipped my front tooth. 1,500.00 was my estimate, well the awesome students fixed my tooth amazingly beautiful for 60.00. Well now it's 2021, I am going back for a lot of dental work and I'm sure, without a doubt, I will be pleased. Students do the work but with the dentist professor's overlooking. ️

Have been coming here for years. This is an excellent school that does exceptional work by junior and senior students. Everything is double, triple, and quadruple checked by professors (doctors). Just have patience and your wallet will thank you!
I first started coming to UAB Dentistry because I couldn't afford private practice dental work without insurance but so far I've loved it more than any other dentist I've ever seen. When you register as a patient you're assigned a student who will be working with you (under faculty supervision.) Mine is Valerie Castro and she is AMAZING, very competent and sweet. She has also been very gracious and willing to talk to me about any concerns or questions at any time outside our scheduled appointments. Wherever she goes after graduation, I will definitely be recommending her to everyone I know. I also had a root canal done by resident Nathan Nunnalee and thought he was amazing as well. Saw me the same day when I first came in with pain (which I understand he was not obligated to do), did an amazing job and was happy to explain the process as well as answer any questions I had throughout the procedure. I haven't worked with every student and staff member in the facility but if those two (as well as the other student and faculty members I HAVE met) are any indication, I would recommend UAB Dentistry to any patient for any reason, regardless of insurance status or price range. The affordability is just a nice bonus.
Patients beware! This is a fraud, cheating facility that patient should never go!!! I went there for a tooth cleaning. My dental insurance has 100% coverage for tooth cleaning and scaling. However, after the scaling (measuring the depth of the gum), they did NOT clean my teeth. Instead they made an appointment at a different time for a \deep cleaning\. They charged 1,000 for it and I rejected the appointment right away. However, they charged this un-done tooth cleaning with only scaling \ parlodontal evaluation\ and charged the insurance company 100 and 30 copay to me while they should only charge the insurance company a \scaling\ and 0 to me. This is a fraud facility and patient should never go there for your dental!
For those that do not know... There is a parking lot for UAB school of dentistry. It is off 7th ave north. They give you a token so you just pay 3.00 to park. I was not aware of this so i just wanted to share the info.
