Great area, annoyed i've never been before! As the name suggests big open water area, popular with fishermen, families and dog walkers. Plenty of swans, ducks and Canada geese. Some nice gentle walks around the site, heading off in different directions. A little oasis

Lovely place. Lots of birds, especially geese and Swans, also saw some deer. Watched the sun set over the lake, beautiful. Just wish dog owners would keep their dogs under control as requested.
Very relaxing gentle walk. Lots of wild life to see and 100's of ducks. They seem to have a plan in place as they move around the water in groups then on a signal(honk) a group will take off to a different part of the water. This is repeated until they have all gathered on mass on a different part of the lake. Very entertaining. Lots of swans as well as you might expect. Punctuated throughout all this is a variety of commercial and 'other's aircrafts taking off or landing at the local airport. You need to watch out for the access road to the car parks and be ULTRA vigilant travelling down it as it is very narrow and some monstrous potholes, especially outside the first car park. I actually think l saw an elephant disappear into it. There is a second carpark further down getting you closer to the water. No designated bays so just be courteous. To say it has disabled access would be pushing it a bit l think. Easy, free way to spend several relaxing hours.
Nice path (which doesn't go all the way round btw) good for little kids to see the swans, geese and ducks
Dreadfully run down and frankly a disgrace. The paths are good in places but in others flooded. NCC this needs looking at. We didn't see it on a great day and it could be much better
