Great pub with friendly staff, food was lovely and Covid safe. Even made our dogs feel very welcome. Well worth a visit.

OMG! I don't think I'll eat tomorrow... The starters were the size of mains and the mains, well one word Amazing. We had a party of 8 Inc two kids and were easily catered for. The huge beams on the ceiling looked positively ancient! The burger is the best I'd had in a long while, proper tasty beef patty in a brioche bap, with mouthwatering chutney and chunky chips. The other dishes looked great too, again I state the only issue was the size of the portions. Service was superbly attentive and the kids LOVED the play garden; lots to do from football goals to swing ball. There is a great off ground play gym too! Ample parking with good sized bays. This is a gem, I'm sad I've been driving by for 20yrs unaware....

Recommended by friends and didn't disappoint, especially the pie, which my husband was raving about, full of big chunks of meat. Staff very friendly and attentive, would love to come back in nice weather as great play area and lovely views from the garden. Covid safe also.

Pub has lovely views, a little playground and food was good. What let it down was the approach to allergens. When we asked quite simple questions about what my husband (gluten, dairy and soy free, but not coeliac) could have, given that the menu wasn't particularly helpful (allergen menu also basically just said everything contained milk and soy), we were made to feel as if we were a nuisance or unreasonable. Pub could do with updating their menu to include more allergen free options (for some reason everything is fried in soy?) or at least train their staff on the issue a bit.

An interesting country pub, somewhat off the beaten track. It has an 'Old World' feel internally, and a lovely beer garden with splendid views over the estuary plus a well equipped children's play area externally. Friendly staff, good food and good beer, there is nothing not to like about this hostelry.
