My partner and I recently collected our new custom built tandem and are delighted with the whole experience from the first phone call to final collection. The bike is absolutely stunning and the service impeccable. You really do get what you pay for. Pete is a tandem expert and genuinely cares that you get the best out of your bike and experience the full joy of riding. There is clearly a lot of love from him and his co-workers/staff in regards to supplying, building and riding bikes. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Did a frame-building course around 2 years ago, amazing knowledge in fitting, tubing, brazing, finishing etc etc. Amazing knowledge from such a 'small' bicycle shop. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

I went to Bicycles by Design for help with a bicyle restoration/refurbishment project, and I'm incredibly pleased with the final result and the customer service from BBD. My main contact at BBD has been Rob; he is supremely knowledgeable and was willing to help me realise the restoration/refurbishment whilst keeping to a smaller budget than I am sure he is used to dealing with. A fair amount of work was required, including a full respray (Rob coordinated this with Argos cycles in Bristol, and the results were impeccable), which took a couple of months. Whilst the work was ongoing, I emigrated from the UK; Rob and his team were incredibly helpful in packaging the bike and coordinating it's shipment to me abroad. I would thoroughly recommend BBD, and Rob in particular.
Very rude. I was outside their shop and asked about a make of bike. Told no they didn't sell it as they only sold quality bikes. I was asking about a Dolan carbon fibre bike. My partner and I are both looking for new bikes. Your loss we would have been spending a lot of money. My partner is after two new bikes. But no problems we will go to Dave Mellors. Great service and excellent bikes there
