About CityLight Media CityLight Media first saw the light on July 1. 2012, when Alberto Russo and Lars van de Donk officially registered the company name with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel). They decided to take this step after launching a few small Android apps on the Google Play Store. And with plans for more advanced, bigger and better applications on their mind. The duo met eachother working together at a local newspaper in Eindhoven. This is where they found that the software engineering background of Alberto Russo combined with the designing background of Lars van de Donk forms a perfect fit to deliver the total package. Eindhoven CityLight Media is based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Eindhoven is know as the 'City of light'​, because the city historically owes his size and reputation to the Philips lightbulb factories. Even today Eindhoven lives up to their name organizing the 'Lichtjesroute'​ (English: Light route) to celebrate the liberation of Eindhoven, and Glow Festival, first held in 2006 and still expanding every year. Eindhoven also is a city of technology and design, the annual "Dutch Design Week"​ attracts a lot of creative spirits to the city.
