A truly amazing place. The location right on Starnberger See is idyllic, while the building itself is a work of art. The combination of collections is unique, and range from the sublime (German expressionists) to the humorous (current German COVID-19 cartoons) to the ridiculous (Buchheim's various collections of oddities). All of the major artworks are very well displayed in spacious galleries, with interesting and educational information about the collections and artists throughout. Definitely a must-see if you're in the Munich area.

Very inspiring museum featuring a large Expressionist Art collection. Pretty modern facilities with a lot of variety of artwork displayed. They even have a little play area for kids.

It is a must visit place (especially for art enthusiasts) The building, although from the 90s, is really modern and looks like a cruise ship! The exhibitions are mostly interesting and worth a look. It hast an elevated peer which reaches out into the Starnberger lake a bit. It also offers lockers for personal stuff and audio guides in various languages. The only negative here is the ticket price which can be pretty high.
