I booked my course online and turned up today to find that yes I was on the list and that there was a space for me. The thing I didnt like is being charged a bank charge when they said they couldnt get money out of my account. Now I have started to use my UK account for any Sepa payments as there were always problems with the German account. I ended up having to send the money to the VHS with the bank charge on top. I would have rather paid this way in the first place and avoided a bank charge since none of the VHS schools in Berlin have ever really been able to take out money effectively from any of the accounts I've offered them (banking is my profession). Class was quite small today and spaced out..there was a one way system in place and everyone in class was required to wear a mask. The room window and door was left open... as per local Corona virus rules.

The management is ridiculously unprofessional: almost eternal waiting times to get information (approximately 2 hours, i'm not kidding); canceled lessons without any refund or possibility to recover it (despite I had 4 different teachers); repetitive changing of teachers; 3 weeks of summer holiday lessons suspension; poor informative policy. Most of the teachers are good, the rest speaks by itself.
I've been doing drawing classes here with different teachers and I really enjoyed them and made progress. I cannot say about other courses, but I definitely recommend the art ones.
This place is a clown show run by incompetent people. They have not yet entered the 21st century and cannot do anything via email or over the internet. You have to wait at least 2 hours to speak with anyone, and even when you have an appointment you still have to wait at least 30 mins. Everyone provides inconsistent information and nothing is aligned. Given the time-waste it requires register for anything, the VHS makes it almost impossible for people will full-time jobs to use their services. Please hire some smart people with common sense and a modern mentality to update this institution for the people of Berlin.
Currently being on the B2 with Hardy, amasing teacher, highly recommend.
