The Berlin wall memorial is situated in the west berlin. A very small part of the wall is remaining here. You can reach here easily via public transport. In the memorial , there are original transcripts available from the people who witnessed the historic Berlin partition. The transcripts are available in both German and English language. Listening to them really fills you with sorrow and grief for the people who suffered during that horrific time. Seeing the historic places like these really makes you think the sacrifices our ancestors have made to give us such a pleasant and peaceful present.

Quite a place to visit specially if you are interested in history. With pictures along with description, audio ones as well, you will come to know allot about this place. In winters, this place can we very chilly and windy so be careful. Its a must visit place!
This area of the city is certainly worth visiting. Beautiful artwork all over the wall, with such a symbolic meaning in all of this. Amazing to think that to this day there are still politics talking about building walls...
The cross through the memorial park is impressive. The architecture icons used to symbolize different parts of the wall, along with the photographs exhibitions on the facades of the remaining buildings make it even better. Lots of texts and testimonials that guide us through the history of the site.
The Berlin Wall Memorial (Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer) is the central memorial site of German division, located in the middle of the capital. Situated at the historic site on Bernauer Strasse, it extends along 1.4 kilometers of the former border strip. The memorial contains the last piece of Berlin Wall with the preserved grounds behind it and is thus able to convey an impression of how the border fortifications developed until the end of the 1980s. On the border strip that had been located in East Berlin, an open-air exhibition uses the situation on Bernauer Strasse to explain the history of division. The memorial consists of the Monument in Memory of the Divided City and the Victims of Communist Tyranny as well as the Window of Remembrance. The grounds also include the Chapel of Reconciliation and the excavated foundations of a former apartment building whose façade functioned as the border wall until the early eighties.
