I had a terrible experience buying an expensive suit here. Like in most Raymond shops I bought the material (wool) and got the suit tailored with the in-house tailor (for some reason they call him a “master”). I was on a short visit to Bangalore and so did a single fit out. It looked fine so I accepted it. After the first dry cleaning (at the most premium store called Band Box) to my horror the whole coat had warped. The Band Box guys explained to me that The Raymond Shop had used cheap fused interlinings instead of full canvassing. Apparently with a fused jacket everything is held with glue which melted during the dry washing process. When I asked for a refund they did not even entertain the request and instead suggested that I should have washed it in a washing machine! The nerve!! I'm never going to go back here, even if I ever go back to buying a suit in India.

It's Raymond. Fabric is quality. The tailor is exceptional.
Not too much of variety stocked here. One have to choose essentially from what they have, most of which is very expensive and obviously top of the line in terms of quality. Probably the ready made ones are better take aways and will make sense of the purchase. We went for suitings and it was expensive so much so that we purchased only one trouser length material for the price of three. Behaviour of the counter sales person are good.
