Got run over by a car, from a stationary position the driver put her foot down and ran me over. PSNI treated it as if it was nothing. Ombudsman agreed having seen CCTV footage??? All witnesses at time were concerned for my safety. Driver hit and ran. Letter from Ombudsman didn't even inform me I could have the case reopened, just stated it was closed. The ombudsman never even contacted me for any follow up or help with investigation. One might think the guy who was hit by a car would be a useful witness, apparently not.... Appalling, disgraceful and not fit for purpose.

Sadly one cannot trust the Psni and the ombudsman is at best toothless and at worst has people within the organisation that may well be passing information to the Psni. Having put in a complaint against an office who dealt with me not as a victim but as a criminal whilst I attempted to report a crime. Since then I have had the officer who the complaint was made against contact me which should not be allowed. I have also had an unknown Psni officer call to my house twice in one day, apparrntly for a chat. There are many good cops in Psni, but they got rid of the wrong Ruc men/women and kept the bad ones when rebadging it. Justice in N.I. is an illusion. Always was, still is. The state forces have an image of transparency but if anything, they are worse than ever. It seems there is nowhere to turn for victims of Police corruption. Same old story.

There is zero impartiality relating to any complaint regarding the police by this office. The Ombudsman in my view is not independent and will always take the side of the police. The Ombudsman office is not fit for purpose and in my view it is a waste of tax payers money because essentially the complaint you make will be led by the police in terms of what way and how they advise the Ombudsman to proceed. So you make a complaint the police dictate what the Ombudsman should do. Don’t think you will get a fair or impartial investigation because that has certainly not been my experience. One star is to much.
