Called the day before to schedule a 5pm reservation just to be safe. Upon arrival My reservation was not in the system, ended up having to wait 15 minutes! Once seated our server came quick she was polite and got us our drinks and appetizer order immediately. Soup is always delicious, the salad was not that good surprisingly this time.. Our chef was nice and energetic. She cooked everything as we requested and didn’t show any hesitation or discern with us... Restaurant was not crowded, seating was accommodating and spacious. Portion size could have been a bit bigger but I may just be used to other hibachi type places..

This was the first time I’ve ever been here and I am flabbergasted. I don’t like to leave a lot of negative reviews but this was a poor experience. I came here expecting to have a nice hibachi style meal made in front of us, however this did not even happen. Our friend’s birthday was this weekend and his girlfriend made a reservation for us for 6:00-6:15. They were there waiting for us. We arrived at 6:07. We got down to the lobby area and right as we were saying hello the hostess said “I’m sorry, but since your party didn’t arrive within 5 minutes of the reservation time, we were not able to hold your reservation. We’ll have to seat you when there is a table available, but we don’t know when that will be”. Now, they could have just said that they didn’t have enough cooks to accommodate the restaurant’s business. We would have thanked them and left. However, the hostesses pushed the blame on us. They clearly didn’t have the staff as all of the tables that you could see from the door had people sitting with soup, salad, and sushi, but no hibachi. If they were honest about what was happening I wouldn’t have cared but that was poor customer service and if they’re gonna pull that stuff people should know. We made a reservation ahead of time and this is how we were treated and I will be skeptical to return.
Benihana is a very nice place. It's themed beautifully and kept tremendously clean. The food is excellent. Their options are plentiful but the prices are high. It's climb puts it at a luxury dinner. Will visit but only on those occasions. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. I recommend sitting at the lounge; if you're not interested in the hibachi.
Our server was good, however the food wasn't that great. The shrimp was overcooked, 4 drinks cost 20ea. I've eaten at many 5 star restaurants and I've never spent this kind of money for subpar food & cocktails. I will not return even if it were free. Very sad this used to be upscale but its has downgraded
We enjoyed our experience here! The cook Curtis was fantastic! He was engaging and made the cooking time fun! Not to mention, the food he cooked was phenomenal! We plan to go back soon and will be requesting Curtis as our cook! The only complaint I have - the bathrooms could’ve been cleaner. But I also don’t expect much from public restrooms either.
