Lovely place to sit and eat but hard to relax with so many wasps around. Time of the year but I would recommend a waspinator on every table.

The food is simple but nice and of good value. They normally do soups, quiches, cakes, scones. The location is beautiful. I love going there for a nice quiet time. I also enjoy the fact that it is a Christian place.
We booked cream tea for two couples and were shown into the adjoining hall. There were no fans on so it was very hot, in fact some of the cream cakes slid apart on the plate ! We were not given a choice of what bread we would like for the sandwiches, ours were white bread, and much to our surprise bearing in mind coronavirus regulations there was a long table occupied by about 16 adults and children, so very noisy. Scones and a slice of cake is far better value which is our normal choice when visiting the Orangery.
