UPDATE: thank you to staff for replying to my concerns :) Good selection of items and friendly counter staff. They have security inside who are unable to enforce social distancing which makes shopping there quite a nerve wracking experience. Large groups clog up aisles, people standing too close, don't sanitize, bring takeaway coffees in, families with children scooting around the place. Always been a busy place, but they really need to enforce better Covid-19 restrictions to make shopping less stressful for all. I have contacted Waitrose but no response. 5 stars for counter staff and their service, 2 stars for security and Covid staff.

Wouldn't visit again. Popped by on my bike on the way home from having to go to the office. I was very rudely told I wasn't allowed my bike in the store. I explained the bike was very expensive and I wasn't able to leave it outside as I was worried it would be damaged or stolen. It isn't a big bike its just a clean carbon road bike. Takes up less room than someone with a trolly. Also I only wanted to pop in for a sandwich and a drink. Anyway had to ride home hungry and disappointed. Never mind 28 miles later and I managed to get some food at home. Given we are being actively encouraged to use bikes and social distance from people don't you think you should allow bikes in the store ? I really don't see the issue with someone politely pushing around a bike to get some food and a drink. I have visited many stores most don't mind at all as long as you are polite about it and don't cause issues for other customers. Even if you choose not to allow bikes in the store maybe try being polite and respectful ?

Quite large waitrose actually the largest I have been to. A food and home selection which was quite impressive.

Surprisingly empty at 2 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, it was a pleasure to go back after so long! Love this shop, it has everything you didn't think you'd need and more. The John Lewis section is kitchen and technology as well as home which is helpful, and the team have always been incredibly warm and welcoming. Happy to see the sushi bar open too!
