Stunning Abbey. Well worth a visit. Situated next to the Roman baths. Free entry, but donations very much appreciated. Plenty of guides to answer any questions you may have. Small gift shop by the exit. Highly recommended a visit. Added pictures from inside and lite up in the evening.

Bath abbey is located at the start of the touristy area right besides roman bath entry gate. Abbey door is well worth looking at with super exquisite detailed wood carving. Went in for a few moments. This is one Abbey that gives peace to heart and mind. Others do not not so much. Highly recommended to go there at dusk when lighting is put up and everything changes feom roman bath city to romantic bath city.

The final destination for our hike of the Cotswold Way. And what a historic place to end literally following in the footsteps of many before us. There’s plenty to see inside and out the Abbey. The current renovations involve installing underfloor heating and restoration of the gravestones that cover the Abbey floor.

The abbey is at the town center of the World’s heritage city of Bath. It’s not too crowded when we visited this winter. It’s free to visit but open for donation. The architecture is magnificent. At night, the light makes abbey even more magical.

Great place. Never been to Bath before. But as no flights to hot destinations. I surprised my husband with s short winter holiday in Bath. Stay at The Doubletree Hilton. Fantastic clean and very safe with social distancing in place. All town centre nearby. Beautiful Abbey. Shopping galore. Spent loads. The best meals were The Ivy and Bengali Indian cuisine.
