Main road running past it and few stop to actually look - they really should!! Bates Cricket Ground has been around for years. Recent renovations saw a massive investment in the club house. A nice short walk wanders past the perimeter and has seating - south facing too. Imagine it - wander in when a match is playing (which is relaxing to watch anyway). You walk to the club house and grab a coffee and sandwich. You sit on a bench and chill as the match continues in the summer sunshine. Then you wander off to do what you were meant to be doing!! Sit on the grass and chill, have a picnic with the kids (plenty of spare grass away from the cricket game) or simply sit and chat to a local. We need facilities like this in the borough and need to keep them attended. Best of all I detest sport and yet this ground is perfect!!
