The view is beautiful. The Basilica is closed from 1200 to 1400. Beautiful church but smaller than many in Europe. Wonderful gift store. Worth a visit. If you choose to be walk please note that it is a fairly steep climb.

High viewpoint but not panoramic view. Short walk from old town. Why not

Beautiful old church with stunning views of Annecy right outside its doors!

Very interesting place, awesome architecture. For those interested in saint Francis of Sales, it's a good place to visit, where it's also possible to visit a very small museum there and know some more about this saint's life. If you visit the souvenir point, although the sister is very nice and gently, be prepared to deal with the language (only French spoken).

The basilica was built from 1909 to 1930. It is adjacent to the monastery, the mother house of the Order of the Visitation, founded in 1610 by Francis de Sales and Jeanne de Chantal. It is a little far from the center of the city. I visited it because it is right on the path you have to follow to climb the mountain.

This is an incomplete review. Like many things in France, this is closed from noon to 2 P.M. That said, the exterior was lovely and the walk up was serene. There is no view of the lake from the basilica grounds.
