Basel, Switzerland
Johanniterbrücke
N/A
As part of my Grandma Jackie sending me to Europe in late September 1993 for my 21st birthday for a few weeks I had to meet her in Zurich, and then later go with her to Basel before I could go on solo to Amsterdam in early October via a train ride along the Rhine. The bridge of dragon statues was of my favorite things about the trip besides being able to cross one street and be in St. Louis, France, then cross another street and be in Russeldorf, Germany, then cross another to be back in Basel. Switzerland reminded me a of a much green wetter version of Colorado. Hope to come back some day.

So relaxing, especially when the weather is nice. Cool, groovy, hipster vibe. The people are really cool. There are swans and Fisher boats. Plenty of space for everyone. There is no sand but it has a real beach vibe. When I was there, some people were playing music, reading or just catching up with friends. It's a great place to go, when you want to be by yourself but have people around so you don't feel lonely. The water is clean, so it's picturesque to look at. The buildings are also beautiful to look at. Overall it's just a lovely place. The river is also a great place to go running.
It's a bridge. It lets things go over it...and float under it. Well done bridge.
It's a bridge. Probably number three of my favourites in basel. You can drive over it. Or under it. But only with a car or motorbike. Bicycles only go over it. Incredible. But seriously, the view isn't bad really, it's rarely crowded and there is plenty of space to sit down and enjoy the view with some food
Second best bridge in Basel. Best view for the best bridge in Basel.
Bridge is ok. No architectural masterpiece, but you can get over the river, without wet feet, which is nice!
Great view!
The bridge seems to be of solid construction. I have used this brigde many times and it did not collapse. So 5 Stars for Stability. 1 Star for no greens and plants on the bridge
