Wonderful eye catching venue. Its as important for Basel as Eiffel Tower for Paris of Statue of Liberty for NYC. Its a must see object for real tourists. Come here and you will feel like in a time machine travelling back in time 1000 years.

Very nice historic building - the seat of the municipality. The building has a lot of artwork on the walls and is very interesting.
Beautiful building in the center of the Basel old town. The art pictures on the walls of the city hall is truly beautiful. If you ever visit Basel you should definitely go to this place and see for yourself how beautiful it is. When you Walt through the old town you cannot oversee it.
From Basel's main station you can either walk all the way to Marktplatz (15-20 minutes) or catch a tram (Lines 8 and 11 amongst others). There is no way you can miss the 500-year old red building! When you go inside you will also be able to check out the beautiful paintings (you don't have to pay to get in) and the architecture in general. There are guided tours (check the schedule). This is one of Basel's landmarks not to be missed!

this magnificent and really ''strange'' building,strange due to its colour,is basel's town hall.Really among the most different but really very good town hall of what i have seen till now..if it is open go inside and take a photo from inside..
The City hall of Basel, it is hard to miss when you enter the town square, the Bright building is impossible to miss, and once you step inside then the real viewing begins. One of my favorite places to visit when i'm in Basel.
