We contacted the Masonic Hall in Barry after coming across their website on the Internet whilst searching for a venue to hold our gay wedding reception. After arranging a meeting at the hall we arrived to find it had recently been redecorated and looked like this was the place for us. We met with Mandy (Catering) to view the hall and discuss our plans for the reception and we found Mandy to be polite, friendly and very helpful and worked with us to decide on menu options and pricing. From day one we met up with Mandy a few times prior to the big day to confirm menus and seating plan etc and on one occasion we visited one evening to see the hall being used for a charity function and were blown away with what we were seeing – the wow factor! Seeing the hall fully decorated with chair covers, table decorations and lighting etc any previous nerves or worries about trying to plan the reception were now settled. We were able to set up the hall the evening prior to our big day and were very happy when all of a sudden we could see everything we had planned coming together. On the big day our guests were very well looked after by Mandy and her team – our day went perfectly smooth as we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We’d opted for a sit down meal at the hall with Mandy doing the catering and have to say that every single person at our reception commented on how good the food was, with some vegetarians commenting that the vegetable bake was the best they’d ever tasted. The guys at the bar were very polite and friendly and prices were very reasonable and we had the best day ever. A BIG thanks to Mandy, her team, the bar staff and also to the people in charge of the Masonic Hall for allowing us to hold our reception there. We definitely recommend this venue and the staff.

Good venue for a party or conference. Reasonable prices. Staff very good and polite. Give it a try. Do your own wedding at a nice price. Catering is good and available
Great facilities for a medium-sized function. Terrific catering and well-stocked but small bar. Plenty of on-street parking locally.
