Happened upon this place for lunch while visiting Peru. No other people were there but we kind of got used to that as Peruvians eat lunch at different times than us Gringos. They still rocked it just for us. We had ceviche and some beef skewers that were crazy good. Our server was really nice and helpful, spoke some English too which makes things easier for us and our poor, Duolingo based limited Spanish. The pisco sours were strong. And delicious. Perfect for siesta inducement.

So we've been here before and it was delicious (maybe 6 months ago), but today it just was...not. The platter for two ceviche spoons was just a spoon of chopped onion with one bit of fish. Ceviche was uninspired and flat, chicharron was probably the best part of the dish, but the seafood rice was just straight bad. I barely had any but my partner powered through and now he is sick (he is also peruvian so its not my weak western stomach). Its just a huge shame because we went assuming it would be to the same quality, but it left our guest bitterly disappointed after he ordered an uninspired arroz chaufa with a (literally) couple of random bits of seafood thrown at it. 40 soles for a huge amount of chaufa (10 soles literally everywhere else) and two pieces of chicharron, with muscles? Come on thats a joke. The wait staff were nice and apparently the lemonade was also good, but I have to assume that either 1) the chef has changed 2) was aggressively hungover or 3) the management has slashed the food budget in an effort to make up for the revenue lost from no longer having outdoor tables. Disappointed and advise others not to try it, there is much better and much cheaper.

I ordered the Loma Saltado and it was delicious - easily one of my favourite meals from my week in Peru. We walked around Barranco District for awhile deciding where to eat and I'm very glad we picked Muya. The staff seemed eager to serve us, answered all of our questions and let us choose where we wanted to be seated. We both had the lemonade, which was also really good. Our server was so sweet. The menu specifically lists which items are Peruvian dishes - helpful for tourists. I would go back here.

It was okay, I liked the Pisco Sour. It’s more a place for a cocktail I think. Inside it’s very sterile, whereas outside you can sit nicely.
