Charming gallery in Barnsley, the afternoon tea in Joshuas cafe was really excellent and very good value.

I love this place because it's small and friendly, catering for kids as well as art buffs, with a cute little cafe too. The exhibitions give you insights into the collectors lives as well as the artists, and a sense of what life was like for well to do Victorians with a sense of public duty. But I mostly like it because it has two large portraits of local characters from the working class, Peggy Airey and Watter Joe. The artist, Abel Hold, was my great-great-great grandfather, and these must have been a labour of love.
Well managed and clean with very helpful staff.
Fantastic cafe, friendly staff and fantastic food at reasonable prices
Lovely gallery in Barnsley, Picasso exhibition was not very well publicised, but enjoyable
