Stopped here overnight in the car park in our campervan. Rang them up beforehand to check if it was OK and no problem at all. Was greeted with a warm smile and the pub quiz which included a free bowl of delicious homemade chips with the entry! Lovely, homely atmosphere and had a laugh with James and Alex. Will definitely come back-a wonderful start to our trip in The Peaks :) Thank you

Had surf and turf boxing day 2017. It was busy and we had reserved a table. Food and service were lovely.
Excellent food and service. Really good quality and beautiful presentation. Well worth supporting.
On entering the pub you see its very clean and smart looking, ordered a couple of drinks from the large selection. I ordered the steak burger from the limited menu, very disappointed, the steak burger had obviously been sat on the toasted bun for a while as the fat had soaked in to the bread and made the whole thing soggy and most of it stuck to the wooden board it was served on, the steak burger lacked any flavour it seemed to be missing salt or herbs, the chips were supposed to be thrice cooked but arrived very soggy/greasy and served in a little basket that wasn't good when you put salt and vinegar on as it leaked out all over the board and on to the table. Unfortunately I will not be going back.
