Camping place with a view at a yacht club. Generous space in the lavatories. Friendly flexible staff. Good starting point for bycicle tours. Not too many eateries in close vicinity.

Since Lonely Planet declared Rotterdam one of the top cities in the world (2016) tourism to this city-of-innovation has thrived. Enjoy its architecture, many restaurants (check out Mangiare which has 3 outlets in town) museums (note: the Boymans has been closed for renovation), Markthal or one of the many concerts at the Ahoy concert-hall. A mere 15min drive brings you to Camping de Oude Maas. Centered around a marina and alongside the Oude Maas river you find an array of pitches, mobile-homes-for-rent and bungalows.
A well kept, tidy touring campsite on the banks of the Oude Maas. We stayed for a couple of nights in December 2017. The pitches were a bit soft and there was a long walk to the toilet block. Apart from that we would certainly stop here again
Very pleasant place to camp, quite expensive, but you can camp right next to the river and watch the world float past.
I originally wrote a good review for this place as it's pretty, good value and the showers etc are clean and well kept. However, after my second day here I have changed my mind 110%. When we arrived yesterday we were late so we called the number given to us at reception and got a temporary key to access the gates to get to our pitch. We camped up and went for dinner and came back about 10pm with no problems parking by our tent. However today, we checked in properly this morning, handed over a 35 deposit for a key card in exchange for the temporary key and were told it would get us in the gate as the other one had done. But... after a long day out in Gouda and Kinderdijk, we returned at 10.45pm only to find that our key card would not work! We called reception, thinking perhaps that it wasn't set up properly and were told that we had to park in the car park as the key wouldn't work after 10pm! Who goes out on holiday and returns by 10pm?!?!?! We were also told that the car was only allowed by the tent for unpacking and repacking. But we weren't told this beforehand or we wouldn't have booked. My girlfriend has fibromyalgia and finds it hard to carry items long distances so I ended up lugging bedding and clothes back and forth before bedtime. Will NOT be coming back. Absolutely atrocious!
Lovely place along the river 'de oude Maas' where you can enjoy a constant stream of ships from small to big container ships floating past
