Some members of staff are really lovely and outgoing but the management treat the actual workers like dirt and speak to them with no respect.

My mum came to Barchester abbey manor a year ago this month. I am overwhelmed with mums care . It took me several months to except and adjust to not having her home with me, having lived and cared for her for almost 7 years. Leaving her behind each time I visited was very difficult.. not because mum would be upset or unhappy , but because On my part there was a sence of guilt... feelings and emotions were all over the place. But as weeks passed by each next visit I would see mum joining in with activities, singing , laughing, making friends joining in with other residents and so much more. Yes she would have her bad days ... who doesn’t... I watched my mum change from a quiet , quite reserved private person into a happier fun sociable well liked and cared for mum. I have had the opportunity to have been able over the last year to really get to know staff at abbey manor care home . I cannot thank them enough . They have all been incredible with mum and also with myself. Mum is my best friend. She completely means everything to me. Now when I leave after visiting mum , as soon as Iam out the door , I leave behind any sadness and any guilt that I’d had before . I also leave behind a very happy content , very bright and cheerful mum. I owe so very much to all of the kind friendly and truly caring staff at west abbey . I will never be able to thank you ALL enough. I have been able to go back to being my mother’s daughter rather than just her carer. Thanku for making my mum happy again . Lorraine Marren.
