Barchester - Emily Jackson House Care Home

A lovely setting and I do not doubt a committed manager but which has been so severely understaffed, especially at night with often only 1 carer on duty for the ground floor. We all know the struggles care homes have had and we all know how hard finding good staff who will stay is. But the number of deaths at the beginning of the epidemic speaks to the reliance and struggles with agency staff. The situation may have changed since March, and I am sure the management have tried their very best in the most challenging circumstances. But the lack of staff and staff working at difference care homes placed residents at enormous risk at the beginning of the year so anyone looking to this home should robustly inquire as to the guaranteed minimum number of carers on each floor overnight and their policies and commitment to keeping the same staff at the home whether agency or employed.

Emily Jackson House looks after both the residents health and their well-being. The staff are exceptionally hardworking and passionate. I am also quite impressed of how responsive the staff to their residents needs They're right there to answer questions when families have concerns and worries. I want to give credit to the phenomenal teamwork here!

Emily Jackson House is such a lovely friendly home. They encourage our loved ones to participate in all sorts of activities, from Dancing to karaoke, gardening and arts and crafts. It’s so nice to know our loved ones are well cared for, especially at this troubled time globally. I would recommend Emily Jackson to anyone.

Emily Jackson has a warm friendly atmosphere for the residents I went to look at the home and saw the residents were getting pampered and well looked after they all had smiles on their faces and were really happy the staff are very friendly and it’s clear to see that the residents are very well looked after

Unfortunately my mum was admitted to Emily Jackson care home during lockdown, despite it being a very difficult time to visit I can see my mum is being very well looked after, she looks well and happy and has even put a little weight back on which is lovely to see! The home appears clean and tidy and the staff very friendly, they always make an effort to accommodate our visits whilst strictly abiding by the covid guidelines.
