Oria has its 1 star newly awarded this year but the mastermind behind, Chef Martin Berasategui, is one of the top chefs in Spain owning 10 Michelin stars. I have ordered the 7 courses tasting menu (you can decide the number of courses you want with a max of 9). Everything is delicious and the way the present the food and mixing the ingredients is innovative and even artistic. I overheard the receptionist explaining to a very eager customer over the phone that the restaurant couldn’t have them tonight since it’s fully booked, but then I saw only half of the tables were occupied. When we chatted a bit after the dinner, she explained that it is restaurant’s policy to contain the number of tables for dinner to half of its full capacity as they put quality first. This professionalism should serve Oria well. Will visit it again next time when I am in Barcelona !
Food was really good (specially the black risotto) as all the MB restaurants we’ve tried. There were a few details on the service side that could have been improved (1.- the non-complementary cava glass that is offered at the beginning can be misleading; 2.- the red wine was poured without offering details on the variety/tasting; 3.- removal of glasses/plates was a bit too quick, almost rushed).
I went with a friend for lunch. Friendly service being very attentive. We picked the number of dishes we wanted and were served with surprises (since they don’t tell you the menu/dishes). I could have wished a bit less fish and the lamb was too fat to my taste.
Amazing meal and service. Got the Chefs tasting menus. Would highly recommend to any one looking for a fine dining, amazing cuisine experience. Michelin Star as well!
