My mum spent three happy years in the Ridings care home. She loved her flat, the cleanliness and brightness of the home, the well maintained large garden, the activities and the care that she received from everyone. I truly believe that it was because the home offered mum such a lively, stimulating, varied and crucially safe environment that her cognitive functioning remained so stable for someone living as she did, with dementia. Our family will always be very grateful to all the staff for making the last year's of mums life such a positive experience for both her and for our family.

I would highly recommend this residential home. My grandmother lived here for many years. The care of the staff is excellent. The staff at the home, go out of their way to make each resident feel welcome. After many years of struggling in her own home and getting upset in another residential home, the staff at the ridings were able to make my grandmother feel instantly at ease. My grandma was a social character but withdrew because of her dementia. They gently encouraged her to integrate with others, eating every meal together, joining in with games and quickly her social circle expanded. Her confidence came back within just a couple of weeks and her cognition, as a result, which had been rapidly declining, plateaued, which is a credit to the home. Her mobility was variable but the home organised exercise classes and encouraged walking into the garden and between rooms. I couldn't recommend this home enough.
