The African Diaspora Alliance is located in Baltimore, United States on 32 E 25th St. The African Diaspora Alliance is rated 3 out of 5 in the category international affairs in United States. The overall mission of our organization is to connect and reunify the African Diaspora through educational programs, travel, and transnational workshops. We have several initiatives that work towards this goal: The Youth of Diaspora is an after-school and summer-long program in which we teach Baltimore youth global black diaspora history and facilitate fully funded travel opportunities for our students to learn more about the African Diaspora. For the past two years, our students have traveled to Havana, Cuba. Diaspora Excursions are curated and ran by our team in Cuba and are centered on decolonizing traditional methods of tourist consumption through meaningful diasporic exchanges! The profits made from the adult group tours go directly towards funding our youth program. Liberation Lectures are discussions led by scholars and activist centered on various topics within the African Diaspora, such as the global impact of hip-hop, using film as a form of resistance, and the politics of black hair. Transnational Events range from panel discussions to parties such as The Diaspora Reunion Party in which we bring together Dj’s from countries within the diaspora. Our most recent transnational event was Diaspora Sol, a 3-day initiative in Havana, Cuba where artists from throughout the diaspora came together to discuss the power of using music as a tool to combat racism globally.
